It's Beginning to Look....

I do not know how many of you are married to a guy who is more like a big kid than a grown adult man? Oh? All of you? Ok...well than you might be able to relate to this.

Last night, the weathermen (weather people would probably be more politically correct) were telling us that there may be some snow in the forcast today. So my 37 year old husband could not sleep. He was so excited at the prospect of snow that he was unable to get any zzzzs last night (which, consequently, has resulted in a 37 year old man who needs a nap!). He got up early and then began to wake the family.

See, around here, if you don't get up and play in the snow WHILE it snows, then you do not get a chance to play. Typically, an hour after it quits snowing, the snow is gone. Which is why by 9am, we were already back inside after having a snowball fight, building some grassy snowmen (they stay together better that way) and running crazy through the yard.

Caroline could not open her eyes at first because, "there was snow in them." She cried and wanted someone to wipe the snow out of her eyes (much like she does in the shower when she gets soap in her eyes)...until we told her that it was just water...then she was good!

We had fun...with the smattering of snow we received.

This has been a fun weekend so far...which is good since I turned a year older on Friday and birthdays don't seem as much fun as they used to...more on that later!

  1. That's funny that your husband would get so excited about snow. I grew up in North of San Francisco and it rarely snowed. When it did everyone stopped what they were doing and played. It was a big royal treat.

After living eleven years in Colorado, 13 in Iowa, and now one year in Wisconsin, the novelty of snow has worn off. It's cold and needs shoveled and gets tracked in the house. I don't like driving in show. I wish I could embrace it like a child. I enjoyed seeing your family enjoying themselves.

  2. Happy belated birthday! And cute snowman for the amount of snow they had to work with :o)
