Happy Mother's Day!

Today is a day we celebrate our mothers.  I hope you have a great mother--I know I do.  If you don't, I hope you have had a great mother figure in your life.

I love my mom.  She raised my siblings and me well...very well.  We have turned out pretty good, if I do say so myself...well, sometimes it is questionable with my brother, but 3 out of 4 isn't bad, right mom?

On with my post.  These tidbits of information are compiled from all of my siblings--so Mom, you have to be mad at all of us the same!  :)

Lessons from Mom
  • Clean up your toys
  • Make your bed
  • Clean your room BEFORE you do anything else
  • Eat with your mouth closed
  • No TV until your homework is done
  • Read every day
  • Eat your veggies--or eat your greens
  • Sugar cereal will kill you
  • Do whatever you do well the first time (I am thinking dusting...haha...I hated dusting as a kid)
  • Protect your family
  • Speak kindly
  • Read your Bible everyday
  • Pray
  • Go to church
  • Good jewelry makes an outfit
  • Never leave the house without lipstick
  • Tell the truth
  • Celebrate the Fourth of July like Christmas
  • Honor your country
  • Don't scream at sports on the TV--they can't hear you anyway
  • Don't take Hobby Lobby for granted
  •  Plan ahead
  • Be prepared
  • Stand up straight
  • You get more bees with honey
  • Homemade macaroni and cheese goes with anything
  • Flank steak is the BOMB
  • Sunday dinner brings the family together
  • Rolling your tongue isn't THAT impressive
  • Use your manners
  •  You can do anything you put your mind to
  • I see you got a 98...what happened to the other 2 points
  • Practice the piano (clearly this one is NOT for me)
  • It is better to give than to receive-as evidenced by what is under the tree on Christmas morning
  • Absence makes the heart grow fonder
  • God Bless America
  • Loving a soldier is often a lonely endeavor---but worth it!
  • Family comes first--second only to God  :)
  • Never leave a family member alone in a hospital
  • Sometimes you need to eat comfort food no matter the calories
  • When your teenage son needs to talk WELL after your bedtime, you better listen
  • Never order Thanksgiving dinner from the club
  • Always brought up how nice Thumper was to Bambi
  • Loves to bring up the word "Twitterpating"
  • Always asked God to bless us before any sporting event we participated in
  • Told us to be sure and thank God after any sporting event we participated in
  • Spinach will not kill you
  • You can sit at the table for hours if need be in order to eat non-deadly spinach
  • Pizza and milk are great together
  • Don't run in the house
  • Eat over your plate
  • You can never have too many Christmas trees
And last but not least:
  • Love your children well!                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                           Love you Mom!!!!

InstaFriday

It is Friday which means I am linked up with Jeannett for InstaFriday!  This is just a photo dump basically of our week!

We spend lots of time at the ballfield.  This is Will's crazy team posing for pictures.
Our school put on the play "Annie" last night and this picture has two purposes.  One I wanted to capture our very fun media specialist as a homeless person and our awesome administrators dressed to the nines, and two--we made a joke with our superintendent about a proposed dress code for teachers.  I sent him these pictures and asked which one we were thinking...he thought it was funny--I think!
We took our 3-5 to see the local minor league baseball team as a reward for all of their hard work this year.  This is my class being silly!  It was raining...the whole time!
This is me and my teammate, Cara, getting drenched at the game...literally soaked all the way through!
The team mascot, Looie, posed for a picture with Will and some of his classmates.

These might be my favorite.  My closest friend, Lynn, just so happens to be the pastor's wife and so on Wednesdays, before church starts, sometimes we hang out in his office.  He was not in his office Wednesday night and so I sat at his desk and took pictures and then sent them to him in his meeting!  We act like silly school girls when we are together and crack ourselves up...I am not sure he laughed! :)

What I Wore Wednesday

It is Wednesday...yeah! That means I am linking up with Lindsay for some serious outfit inspiration. This is a place where we stay accountable for not staying in sweats, pjs, or yoga pants all day. Won't you join us?

We had field day last Wednesday and our theme was "Annie".    Our students always put on a spring play/musical and this year it is Annie...so...teachers got extra points for their class if we dressed as a character.  So, my student teacher and I dressed as orphans.  I mean, who isn't for as many extra points as you can get?  (We still lost, btw, but not for lack of effort from the teacher! ;)  )

Shirt and sweater: Loft
Jeans: GAP
Shoes: Naturalizer
I did not like this outfit so I switched to the one below.

same pants and shoes...
Shirt and sweater: Loft (haha)!

Tank: Target
Shirt: Loft
Skirt: Old Navy
Shoes: Dillards

Shirt: Belk
Jeans: Ann Taylor
Shoes: Lindsay Phillips

Tunic: Old Navy
Leggings: Loft
Shoes: Yellow Box

Did yall notice I got bangs?  Hate them.  Don't do it.

But do link up with us!

InstaFriday

It is Friday so I am linking up with Jeanette for InstaFriday!

We had Caroline's dress rehearsal for her tap dance recital which is tomorrow.  It was cute...I have a video if you are just dying to see 11 girls not tap dance together.  :)

We had field day on Wednesday and our theme always correlates with our spring musical.  Obviously, "Annie" is our spring musical so this is some of my grade level dressed up as Annie and the orphans for field day.  We earned extra points for our classes if we dressed up.  Obviously, third grade will do anything for points.
My sweet boy on his field day, in his class shirt...his class won for third grade!
My sweet girl in her field day shirt...haha that they had the same one...and HER class won for Kindergarten.   Apparently gold was the winning color!
This made me laugh out loud really hard!  I turned on Will's ipod to check what he had been doing and this was his wallpaper!  He totally took a picture of his "gun show" and posted it as his wallpaper.  LOL

Have a great Friday!
